Ministry of Defence contract

MLRS Books has a contract to reprint the archives of the Royal Air Force.

MLRS Books is very pleased to announce that we have signed a contract with the UK Ministry of Defence to reprint selected material from the archives of the Royal Air Force. The archives are held at the Air Historical Branch (Head Sebastian Cox MA) which is located within RAF Northolt in North London. The range of the material is comprehensive, and we will be working together with AHB to reprint a large number of the most significant papers held there. As well as MLRS reprinting hard copies the electronic versions will be available on the website of the RAF Centre for Air Power Studies (RAF CAPS for your browser). There you will be able to read the papers and decide which you would like to buy for more permanent examination.

Together with the collection of papers and books in the collection of the RAF Museum London, MLRS has unprecedented access to UK air history and we plan to coordinate the two archives, with the help and advice of their heads of department, to produce a new and extensive record of RAF planning, operations, aircraft and other pertinent matters, which will be available for the first time to readers who have no great wish to travel to London, or whose time is too short for such research trips.

Note that material held at AHB is sometimes, but not always, also held by the National Archives at Kew, but going there or getting photocopies can be extremely expensive in comparison with an MLRS reprint of the same document - and they come already bound!
